PLAYER AGREEMENT & CLUB RULES

Sporting CP Academy London is committed to providing a professional, safe and positive football environment for all players.

This Player Agreement & Club Rules page explains the expectations for players and parents/guardians who are registering for the club/team programme.

Club registration is only available to players who are already registered with Sporting CP Academy London or who have been invited or approved by the academy to complete club registration.

By completing the club registration form, parents/guardians confirm that they have read, understood and agreed to the rules and expectations below.

Training Attendance

Regular training attendance is important for player development, teamwork, fitness and match preparation.

Players are expected to attend their scheduled training sessions and arrive on time, ready to train.

If a player cannot attend training due to illness, holiday or another reason, the parent/guardian must inform the coach or academy through the agreed communication channel as early as possible.

Where a player regularly misses training, arrives late, or does not show the required effort, attitude or commitment, this may affect match selection and team involvement.

Players who attend training consistently, show good attitude and follow coaching instructions are more likely to be considered for matches and team opportunities.

Matchday Expectations

Players selected for matches must arrive on time and be ready for the team warm-up and match preparation.

In most cases, players should arrive at least 30 minutes before kick-off, unless the coach confirms a different arrival time.

If a player cannot attend a match, the parent/guardian must inform the coach as soon as possible.

If a player fails to attend a match without prior notice, this may affect future match selection.

Parents/guardians are responsible for checking match details, including venue address, postcode, arrival time and any coach instructions shared through the agreed academy communication channel.

Players are expected to behave respectfully towards coaches, teammates, opponents, referees, parents and spectators at all times.

Kit and Equipment

Players must wear the official Sporting CP Academy London kit for training sessions and matches, unless otherwise agreed by the academy.

Players must wear suitable football boots or trainers for the surface they are playing on.

Shin pads must be worn for matches and where required during training.

Players should bring water to every training session and match.

Jewellery must not be worn during matches or training where it creates a safety risk.

Any under-layers or additional clothing worn during matches should be suitable, safe and in line with club colours where possible.

Players arriving without the correct kit or required equipment may not be able to train or play, depending on the circumstances and the coach’s decision.

Parent/Guardian Responsibilities

Parents and guardians play an important role in supporting a positive team environment.

Parents/guardians are expected to support the player’s attendance, punctuality, behaviour and communication with the academy.

Parents/guardians must not interfere with coaching decisions, match selection, substitutions, training plans or team instructions during sessions or matches.

Any concerns should be raised respectfully through the correct academy communication channel after the session or match, unless the issue is urgent or safeguarding related.

Parents/guardians are responsible for travel arrangements to and from training sessions, home matches and away matches.

Parents/guardians may be asked to assist with reasonable matchday support where appropriate.

Medical and Emergency Information

Parents/guardians must provide accurate medical information during registration, including any medical conditions, allergies, injuries or other important information that may affect the player’s participation.

Parents/guardians must inform the academy if any medical information changes during the season.

Players should not attend training or matches if they are unwell, injured, or unable to participate safely.

By registering, the parent/guardian confirms that the player is fit to take part in football activities, unless specific medical information has been provided to the academy.

In an emergency, the academy may seek appropriate medical assistance where required, in line with the parental consent provided during registration.

Safeguarding and Welfare

Sporting CP Academy London is committed to providing a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for all players.

All players must behave respectfully towards coaches, teammates, opponents, referees, parents and other members of the academy community.

Bullying, discrimination, aggressive behaviour, abusive language or unsafe conduct will not be accepted.

Parents/guardians must also support a positive environment and communicate respectfully with coaches, staff, players, referees and other parents.

Safeguarding or welfare concerns should be reported to the academy’s Welfare Officer.

Registration, Selection and Team Commitment

Club registration and payment do not guarantee match selection, a starting position, fixed playing time or placement in a specific team.

Match selection is based on several factors, including attendance, attitude, effort, behaviour, fitness, development, team requirements, squad size, coach assessment and match suitability.

Players are expected to show commitment to their team and communicate clearly if they are unavailable for training or matches.

If a player is also involved with another football club, academy, team or league, the parent/guardian must inform Sporting CP Academy London where this may affect attendance, availability, match eligibility, player welfare or team commitment.

The academy reserves the right to review a player’s team place if there are repeated attendance issues, behaviour concerns, unpaid fees, lack of communication, or other matters that affect the player’s participation or the team environment.

Any decision to suspend or remove a player from team activities will be considered carefully and communicated to the parent/guardian.

Agreement

By completing the club registration form, the parent/guardian confirms that:

They are the parent or legal guardian of the player, or have authority to complete the registration.
The player is already registered with Sporting CP Academy London or has been invited or approved by the academy to complete club registration.
They have read and agree to this Player Agreement & Club Rules.
They understand that club registration and payment do not guarantee match selection, fixed playing time or placement in a specific team.
They agree to support the academy’s training, matchday, kit, behaviour, safeguarding and communication expectations.
They confirm that all information provided during registration is accurate and will be updated if circumstances change.
